Fullerton Markets today announced the launch of its Youth Talent Program, an initiative to invest in youth who show early promise in sports, arts or entrepreneurship.
The first person scouted by Fullerton Markets under the Youth Talent Program is Sydney Tang, a talented ballerina from Singapore. Only 10 years young, Sydney has been making waves because of her talent and victories. In just three years, this precocious tween has won multiple championships in the region.
In September 2016, Sydney became the first Singaporean to win gold at the 6th Asian Grand Prix (AGP) International Ballet Competition, which featured 276 contestants from 15 countries. The AGP is one of the most renowned international ballet competitions in Asia. In 2017, Sydney clinched the Gold Award in the Asia Dance Arts Festival Competition and was the overall champion in the Hong Kong Challenge Cup. She received both the Bronze and Scholarship Awards at the Tokyo Ballet Trial in the same year.
Said CEO of Fullerton Markets Mario Singh, “We are really proud of Sydney. Her strength of character belies her tender age. What really impresses me is her ambition and relentless pursuit to be the best. This resonates with Fullerton Markets’ values of Passion, Excellence and Commitment.”
This month, Sydney made headlines by winning the pre-junior category in the Get The Beat Dance Championships in Australia, competing against some 20,000 routines from all over Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
Sydney said, “Thank you for supporting me on my journey Fullerton Markets! I will continue to work hard and be the best I can be!”
When asked about the purpose behind Fullerton’s Youth Talent Program, Mario continued, “It’s so true that people tend to overestimate what they can achieve in a year, but completely underestimate what they can achieve in 10 years. The power of mentorship and the advantage of starting young pay huge dividends in the future. May Sydney’s commitment and ambition spur other youngsters to reach for their dreams. Nothing is impossible. We need more game-changers, world-changers and history-makers!”
